KAMEDA SEIKA CO., LTD. is a company mainly engaged in the manufacture and sale of confectioneries. The Company operates in three business segments. The Confectionery Manufacturing and Sale segment is engaged in the manufacture and sale of rice crackers and snacks. The Cargo Transportation and Storage segment provides transportation and storage services for its rice cracker products and raw materials. The Others segment is engaged in the manufacture and sale of long term storage foods, as well as the sale and repair of automobiles. As of March 31, 2014, the Company had 11 subsidiaries and two associated companies. Starting in 2008, the company tried to market its best-selling product in Japan, Kakinotane, as well as other types of rice-based snacks to U.S. consumers. Kameda’s recent acquisition of a U.S. company, Mary’s Gone Crackers, has shown steady sales growth.
